Four persons were killed and one has been injured after a landslide hit houses in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. As per officials, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched a rescue operation on Saturday wherein 5 members of a family were buried under the structure's rubble.
The incident relates to landslides in the Tharali area and news agency PTI quoted Tharali Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravindra Juwantha stating that police officials and the rescue team were quick to reach the site.
The SDRF was informed by the District Control Room that debris crashed into houses in Tharali. Thereafter, General SDRF, Manikant Mishra directed the SDRF rescue team to immediately dispatch the rescue team to the spot. In compliance with the above order, the Humrah team immediately reached the spot of the rescue equipment for rescue.
