Uttarakhand: Avalanche Strikes Near Malari Village in Chamoli

An avalanche hit the border village of Malari in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, on Monday, causing concern among the local residents. The avalanche occurred over the Kunti, a tributary of the Dhauli Ganga river, however, no damage to life or property has been reported.

Avalanches over the Kunti river are common during this time of the year, and the local authorities are monitoring the situation closely. The road from Joshimath to Malari, which is located in the Niti valley, is a popular route for tourists and locals.

Despite the common occurrence of avalanches in the area, the local residents and tourists are advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions. The authorities have also increased their efforts to ensure the safety of the people, by setting up warning systems and regular patrols.
